"He saves on gas and gets to eat lunch with his 1-year-old. He said Carrier promotes the option, in part, because it saves $19 a square foot on cubicle space."

Just a reminder that the work-at-home movement is not always a personal / employee-only preference. You may save on gas, get to eat lunch with your family, but your company (for those who are telecommuting) gets to save the cost of you "flushing the toilet".

"Some see a downside: Workers left behind in the office get stuck with the spot work, are less satisfied and more likely to leave, one study concluded. And those who telecommute are less likely to be promoted, a survey of executives says."

At least you can claim a tax break!
